THRESHOLD
SPACE
THRESHOLD_SPACE is a visual interactive, code-based project exploring the boundaries between past and present, machine and human, intuition and choice.
Using digital codes inspired by traditional visual means of communication, the project invites viewers to enter the THRESHOLD SPACE - where human intuition and machine code merge, generating a new visual language born from unconscious choices.

I LOVE YOU
We explored the language of Egyptian hieroglyphs, discovering how ancient symbols become a visual code, a structured field of units that together form a complete story.
We created a visual image; a poster that tells a love story, without using any words.

Series 1
DE-CONSTRUCTION
How does repetition reshape the meaning of an ancient sign, allowing it to become part of a new visual language?

Series 2
DISTORTION
What happens when a hieroglyph transforms into a pixel? How does meaning shift as ancient symbols enter the digital world?

Exploring the structure of Azerbaijani carpets.
Deconstructing the layout and translating it into a condensed pixel-based structure.

DIGITAL TAPESTRY
What unfolds when a pattern is endlessly repeated? What emerges by tracing the architectural structure of a carpet? How does motion transform its story?
Like the hieroglyph, the carpet itself becomes a medium for storytelling — a visual code composed of small units that together form a meaningful symbol.

DOS SYSTEM
At the center of the project is an interactive DOS-like interface, linking viewer and code.
This minimalist, basic interface places the viewer in a space of uncertainty and exploration.
The viewer intuitively answers random questions presented by the code, shaping the unfolding digital carpet.
With no right or wrong choices, each path becomes a personal journey through code and ancient symbols.

THRESHOLD_SPACE is a visual journey from ancient hieroglyphs to complex carpet patterns, where generative code weaves a digital tapestry.
Throughout the process, we questioned how the meanings of ancient symbols and traditional crafts shift when reimagined through code, and what unfolds when choices are guided by intuition - when reality becomes a field of pixels and patterns.
Projected onto a curtain, the work invites viewers to cross its threshold and experience a passage between tradition and innovation, past and present, material and spirit.
Within this space, boundaries blur, and movement from one reality to another becomes possible -
A gateway to new visual consciousness, woven from the choices, patterns and codes born in each moment of decision.
